Our Philosophy
First established in 2001, I Greppi Estate was founded on a vision of Bolgheri’s exceptional winemaking potential. The arrival of new family owners in 2017 marked a turning point, transforming I Greppi’s quiet potential into a renewed vision for the future.
As one of the older vineyards in the region, the estate holds a distinguished position in Bolgheri’s viticultural heritage, a legacy we are honoured to preserve and elevate.
The essence of Bolgheri
Since new family ownership, the vineyard has grown to 37 hectares, with 26 planted under vine, and our team now brings together a wealth of international expertise; the owners have a passion for understanding the soils, which lends a deeper understanding of the terroir, whilst our head winemaker carries forward the artistry and tradition of the region. United by a shared passion for this remarkable area, we are dedicated to creating wines that embody the essence of Bolgheri while embracing innovation to constantly improve the wines that we are proud to offer you.
Here at I Greppi we regard ourselves as custodians of this beautiful part of Tuscany, which we are proud to call home.
The freshwater lakes form a natural nature reserve supporting many diverse habitats in this aquatic ecosystem. In early Spring the noise of birdsong fills the air, whilst at night a chorus of frogs, Scops owls and nightingales are a delight. Around the vineyard we have planted many native species, and are regularly visited by deer, wild boar and the occasional porcupine. To support all of this we are working hard to minimise our environmental impact thereby respecting and preserving this land that we love.
